This thought provoking affirmation deck is specifically geared towards assisting those in coping with grief over the loss of a loved one. When it’s difficult to move forward each day, these cards can support you in taking that small step towards peace. Working with these affirmations will get you into the present moment where love and happiness reside, rather than despairing about the past (depression) or worrying about the future (anxiety).
The quotes are a mix of affirmations: some created by me to support my grief transformation after the loss of my beloved husband Gary in 2018 from throat cancer; and some written by Gary in his last journals. I was able to collect so many wonderful quotes from his writings that brought me closer to him and helped to sooth my heartache. Every morning, pull one card and take a moment to repeat the affirmation at least 3 times out loud. Close your eyes, take 3 deep breaths and picture yourself in your favorite place in nature. As you feel the ground beneath you, the sun’s warmth, the smell of fresh air, and the energy of nature surrounding you, repeat the affirmation 3 more times in your mind. Take one more deep breath: inhale nature’s serenity and exhale your love and gratitude for nature. You can also do this outside in nature! Throughout the day, recall this affirmation and the happy feeling you created, any time you start to spiral down. It also helps to combine this with journaling; each morning write down your affirmation and then at the end of the day, write about your experience.
